The Noor-un-Nisa Project
How you can help

Photo of author Shribani Basu at Gordon Square

Golden Gate Sufi Circle is cooperating in the fund-raising for a memorial statue in London in honor of Noor Inayat Khan, heroic daughter of Hazrat Inayat Khan, who gave her life as an agent behind enemy lines during WWII.

GGSC's goal is to raise $8,008 for the project, and as of now we are over 75% of the way there. U.S. contributions through GGSC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, are considered tax exempt charitable donations. (UK donors go here.)

For any questions, please send an email to
roger.pritchard@mindspring.com. Roger has generously volunteered to coordinate this effort for the GGSC. Please
donate whatever you can now.

FROM THE BOWL OF SAKI: True self-denial is losing one's self in God. -- Hazrat Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan

Commentary from Hazrat Murshid Samuel L. Lewis (Sufi Ahmed Murad Chishti):
This is not to say "I am" or "I am not," it is to give no thoughts to self but all to God. Let one say, "What would God have me say, what would God have me think, what would God have me do?" But even this is unnecessary for there is always a feeling of ease if not of joy, when one practices Darood -- to harmonize all action, speech, and thought with the breath. This is easy, simple, and sufficient, and for it no knowledge of metaphysics is necessary.

Commentary on The Bowl of Saki of Hazrat Inayat Khan
